The black handle denotes the large-calibre version, built to the UK 7/32in x 26 TPI BSB implement thread and roughly 6.35mm in rod diameter. Each of the three sections joins on the standard Parker-Hale thread, so they can be combined for a full 35in (89cm) rod to clean right through the barrel, or used singly at 13.25in (335mm) for easier storage and transport.
