The Buttolo Double Reed Deer Call is a rubber squeeze-ball call designed to reproduce all the main vocalisations of the roe deer. Where the standard Blatter suits beginners, the Double Reed is intended for the more experienced caller — its twin-reed construction delivers a broader pitch range, making it easier to switch between the doe's soft fiep contact call and the sharper kitz (kid distress or terror cry) without swapping tools. To produce the gentle mating call, apply light thumb pressure to the top of the rubber bulb; for the distress shriek, press firmly and quickly until the mechanism fires the terror-cry note. The fitted cap carries one front and two side openings; covering one or two adjusts tone and volume to match conditions. Effective during the roe rut and also proven for muntjac, it rewards a patient approach — bucks can take 20 minutes or more to close the distance, so give the call time to work.
