Milfoam Bore Foam from Forrest is a pressurised aerosol designed to clean rifle and pistol barrels across all calibres without the need for solvents containing ammonia. Developed by UK manufacturer Milfoam International, the foam removes copper fouling, brass deposits and combustion residue through a chemical process rather than mechanical scrubbing alone. A useful indicator feature changes the foam's colour during use — turning blue when copper fouling is present and black for carbon and other combustion residues — so you can see at a glance whether the bore is clean. Cleaning is complete when the foam returns to white. The formula is non-toxic, odourless and safe on blued, stainless and synthetic surfaces, and it leaves a thin protective film on the bore once cleaning is done. Widely used by both civilian shooters and military personnel in over 40 NATO countries, the 500ml pressurised aerosol provides a long supply: the can will clean a .308 bore approximately 175 times. Simply spray foam into the bore, allow 15–30 minutes to work, then patch out.
