The Hornady Lock-N-Load Cartridge Gauge for 223 Remington is a calibre-specific reloading tool machined to SAAMI chamber tolerances for the 223 Rem cartridge, with its .224-inch bore diameter. Made from stainless steel with clearly marked lettering, it lets handloaders verify that sized cases and finished rounds are within specification before they go anywhere near a firearm. The 223 Remington is one of the most widely reloaded rifle cartridges, used in bolt-action and semi-automatic rifles for foxing, target shooting and pest control. Reloaders working across multiple rifles — each with slightly different chamber dimensions — will find this gauge particularly useful for confirming that brass sized for one rifle will chamber reliably in another. Drop in a case or loaded round: if it sits correctly, it is within SAAMI spec. A straightforward bench tool that builds confidence in every batch of 223 Rem reloads (MPN 380707).
