The Hornady 30 Calibre ELD Match 208gr Seating Stem is machined to match the ogive profile of Hornady's 30-calibre 208-grain ELD Match bullet — a heavy-for-calibre match projectile popular with long-range shooters working with cartridges such as .308 Winchester and .300 Winchester Magnum. The 208gr ELD Match has a long, high-BC profile with a Heat Shield tip that must be contacted on the correct surface during seating; this stem is shaped precisely to do that, preventing any deformation that would compromise the bullet's aerodynamic consistency. For handloaders building loads at the heavier end of the 30-calibre spectrum where seating depth uniformity is critical to accuracy, using the properly profiled stem in a Hornady Custom Grade die is the correct approach. Not compatible with other manufacturers' seating dies.
