The Morakniv Basic 511 is a robust fixed-blade knife crafted in Mora, Sweden, built for everyday tasks in the field, on the worksite, or around camp. Its 91mm blade is made from C100S high carbon steel — a German-origin alloy that takes and holds a keen edge and sharpens easily in the field. At 2mm thick, the blade strikes a practical balance between rigidity and fine cutting performance, and the Scandi grind geometry (22–24° total angle) makes touch-ups straightforward with a simple flat stone. The signature red polymer handle features a pronounced black finger guard that keeps your hand firmly away from the blade during heavy use, providing a secure grip whether your hands are wet or dry. At 110g and 206mm overall, it is a genuinely useful everyday carry that fits neatly into a pack or on a belt via the included combi-sheath. Whether you need a reliable blade for food preparation, rope work, or general outdoor cutting, the Basic 511 delivers consistent, no-nonsense performance that has made Morakniv knives a trusted choice for decades.
