The Flying Kestrel from Sport Plast is a full-body flying decoy modelled on a kestrel, made in Italy from lightweight moulded plastic with accurate colouring and detail. Rather than luring quarry in close the way a standard decoy pattern does, the kestrel works as a bird of prey silhouette set up over decoying pigeons or worked on a pole or line to keep birds moving and unsettled, helping bring pigeons within range and drawing the interest of crows and magpies too. The wings detach from the body, so the decoy packs down small for carrying to and from the hide or decoy pattern and takes up little room in the vehicle or decoy bag between outings. It is a straightforward, purpose-built piece of corvid and pigeon shooting kit rather than a display piece, built to be set out repeatedly in the field.
