The Hornady Lock-N-Load Modified Case for 300 Holland & Holland Magnum is a reloading measurement tool — not ammunition. Designed for use with the Hornady Lock-N-Load Overall Length (OAL) Gauge (sold separately), it enables handloaders to measure the precise distance from the cartridge head to the rifling lands in their own 300 H&H Mag rifle. The modified case is manufactured to SAAMI specifications and has a threaded neck that accepts the LNL OAL Gauge. To take a measurement, seat a bullet in the modified case, chamber the assembly in your rifle, and read the maximum OAL from the gauge. That figure is the reference for setting your seating die to the bullet jump — or contact — you are after. The 300 H&H Magnum is a historic long-action belted cartridge with a long throat, and getting seating depth right can make a meaningful difference to consistency and accuracy in this round. One modified case per calibre is required; it will not work with other magnum cartridges.
