This leather sheath is the official edge guard for the Morakniv Hook Knife 163, the double-edge, open-curve hook knife used for carving bowls and spoons with a larger radius. Made from thick Swedish vegetable-tanned leather in its natural colour, it closes over the curved blade with a simple press-stud fastener, giving a secure, classic fit rather than a loose slip-on cover. Fitted whenever the knife is not in use, it does two jobs at once: it keeps the exposed double edge away from fingers and other tools in a kit bag, and it protects the edge itself from picking up nicks and dullness against anything harder than wood. Carving hook knives are ground thin and sharpened keenly on both sides of the curve, so an unprotected edge loses its keenness quickly in storage and transport, which is exactly what this sheath is designed to stop. It is made specifically for the current Hook Knife 163 and will not fit earlier Mora hook knife patterns. Sold as the sheath alone — the Hook Knife 163 itself is available separately.
