The 7.5cm blade is stainless steel with a 13% chromium content, hardened to 53–54 HRC, so it holds an edge well between sharpenings — Marttiini recommend a diamond sharpener for chromium steel. The handle is curly birch, a material long used on Finnish knives for its distinctive grain and durability, finished with a wax coating that gives a warm, secure grip. At 17.5cm overall, it's a compact, pocketable knife rather than a heavy-duty field blade, and it comes with a leather sheath made in the traditional way.
