Kierinki is Marttiini's tribute to Janne Marttiini, the founder of the Finnish knife factory, and takes its name from his home village in Lapland. The blade is forged from carbon steel with a wavy, hand-forged texture, ground to a traditional Scandi edge that takes and holds a fine edge for carving and general fieldcraft. The handle pairs heat-treated birch with curly birch for a warm, two-tone grip, and the genuine leather sheath is finished in light brown with gold foil detailing. At 23cm overall with an 11cm blade, it sits at the larger end of Marttiini's traditional puukko range, versatile enough for hunting, fishing and all-round outdoor use, and equally at home as a display piece or gift. Like any carbon steel blade it needs a little care: dry it thoroughly after use and oil it regularly with an unsalted oil to keep it free of rust.
