The Bestard Milano Mid is the mid-cut version of the Spanish bootmaker's Milano shoe, built from the same vintage nubuck leather and Cordura/synthetic rubber upper but taken up over the ankle for extra support and a soft, comfortable cuff. A Gore-Tex Most Breathable lining keeps the boot waterproof without sacrificing breathability, so it copes equally well with a wet hill day or a dry one spent walking around town. Extended lacing runs down the boot for a fit that adjusts easily to different foot shapes, while Bestard's Trail Tech 30 last gives a roomier, all-day fit than the brand's technical mountain boots. Underneath, a Vibram Omnific rubber outsole handles trail and pavement alike, cushioned by an EVA-based Bestflex 1 midsole that keeps weight down at 930g a pair.
