The Beretta Snap Caps & Wool Mop set gives 12-gauge shotgun owners two of the most practical maintenance items they can keep to hand. The snap caps are polypropylene dummy rounds — load them in place of live cartridges to release the hammers safely at the end of a day's shooting without striking an empty chamber, and to carry out dry-fire practice without stressing the firing pins. The wool mop threads onto a cleaning rod, takes up a few drops of Beretta gun oil, and is then drawn through the bore to lay a fine, even film of oil along the chamber and barrel — keeping moisture and corrosion at bay between shoots. Together the two items cover the two most common end-of-day tasks for any 12-bore owner: safe hammer-down and bore lubrication.
