The Parker-Hale Wool Mop in 12 gauge is a simple, dependable tool for the final stage of cleaning a shotgun bore. Made in the UK from quality wool, it is soft and lint-resistant, so it leaves an even film of oil down the barrel after the brushing and patching is done. That last pass is what guards against corrosion between outings, and a wool mop does it without scratching the bore or shedding fibres the way a worn patch can. The mop is threaded to fit Parker-Hale cleaning rods, and the same thread is found on some Bisley rods, so it screws straight onto a kit you may already own. Sized specifically for 12-bore barrels, it fills the bore properly to carry oil right to the walls rather than rattling loosely down an oversized barrel. As the most common gauge for game and clay shooting, the 12-bore mop is a kit-bag staple. Like the rest of the Parker-Hale cleaning range, it is supplied on a blister card for tidy storage, making it a small but worthwhile part of keeping a gun in good order through the season.
