The Woolpower Mittens 400 are double-knitted merino wool mittens built for serious cold. Two layers of Ullfrotté Original 400 — Woolpower's proprietary terry-loop fabric — work together to trap air and form a dense thermal barrier that keeps hands warm even during prolonged static exposure, such as a long sit in a high seat or a cold morning on the peg. The seams are tucked between the two layers rather than on the inside surface, so there is nothing to chafe the hand during extended wear. They are designed to function either as a standalone mitten in hard winter conditions or as a warm liner beneath a windproof shell mitten when the cold turns extreme. The merino fibre regulates moisture, keeping hands comfortable whether you are moving between stands or sitting still, and the natural antibacterial properties reduce odour over a long day in the field. Made in Woolpower's own factory in Östersund, Sweden, from 70% merino wool, 28% polyamide and 2% elastane. Machine washable at 40°C.
