The HIKMICRO Falcon Pro FQ25 is a handheld thermal monocular built around a 640x512px, 12μm sensor with sub-20mK NETD, resolving fine detail such as animal hair and the branches and leaves around a target rather than just a bright blob of heat. Its 25mm F1.0 lens gives an unusually wide field of view for a thermal unit, making it well suited to ecology and wildlife survey work as well as general foxing and pest control, with 1.42x optical magnification and 1x/2x/4x/8x digital zoom taking the detection range out to 1200m. Image Pro mode, unique to the Falcon Pro at launch, boosts detail in both the animal and its surroundings for a clearer overall picture. The robust magnesium housing uses an ambidextrous four-button layout that works equally well in total darkness, and the binocular-style eyecup holds the large HD OLED display comfortably in position. A removable 18650 battery gives around 6 hours' continuous running, and 64GB of built-in memory stores photos and video directly on the device. IP67-rated and rated from -30°C to 55°C, it also pairs with the HIKMICRO Sight app for streaming, remote control and four thermal colour palettes.
