The ThermTec Ares 360 is a dual field-of-view thermal imaging riflescope built for deer stalkers and foxers who need to spot and identify quarry in complete darkness. A 384x288 thermal sensor with 12µm pixel pitch and NETD ≤35mK sits behind F/1.0 germanium optics and a 20mm/60mm dual-lens system: the wide 20mm field of view is for scanning open ground, while the narrow 60mm view brings targets in for positive identification and a clean shot, giving 1.8-5.5x optical zoom (up to 27.5x combined with digital zoom). Images are shown on a sharp 1024x768 AMOLED display, and the Ares uses shutterless non-uniformity correction, so there's no clicking shutter or frozen screen to give the game away. One-shot automatic zeroing, a built-in AI-based ranging function that estimates target distance without a laser, and Wi-Fi/hotspot streaming with photo and video recording round out the feature set. The aluminium housing is IP67-rated against rain, dust and fog, and runs on a replaceable 18650/18500 battery. Detection range is up to 3,000 metres in full darkness — plenty of reach for stalking, lamping and pest control after dark.
