The Gehmann 344 is a centring device for the lens holder systems fitted to target-shooting glasses, used to get a lens or iris perfectly aligned with the eye before a match. It pushes on to the lens holder and sits in front of the lens, or the open iris shutter, while the shooter checks the sight picture: once the target bull appears as a perfectly round circle, the lens is centred, and the device is simply pulled off again. It comes in two fittings to suit different Gehmann lens holder diameters - the 344 for 37mm holders and the 344-K for 23mm holders - so it is worth checking which size your frame takes before ordering. On the smaller 344-K, removing the conical centring piece leaves a holder that doubles as a mount for coloured filter lenses, adding a second use once the initial set-up is done. It is designed specifically for Gehmann-type shooting-glasses lens systems and is not intended for use with ordinary spectacles. A simple, purpose-built accessory for ISSF rifle and pistol shooters fine-tuning their sight picture.
