This Bisley Pewter Rising Mallard Figurine (M) depicts a mallard rising from the water, one of the most familiar images in British wildfowling and game shooting. It's part of Bisley's range of pewter country-sports gift figurines, and this medium size measures 50mm high, 40mm long and 15mm deep — compact enough for a shelf, desk or display cabinet in a gun room, study or hallway. A small figurine like this makes a natural gift for anyone who spends their mornings on the foreshore or their evenings on a flight pond: a birthday present for a keen duck shooter, a thank-you for a host after a day's shooting, or a modest trophy or presentation piece for a shoot or wildfowling club. Bisley's wider figurine range covers other quarry species alongside the mallard, so it's worth checking what else is available if you're buying for someone with a particular bird in mind.
