Bisley's Pewter Pin Badge 38 Trout is a small cast lapel pin from the brand's range of English pewter countryside badges, this one carrying a trout motif for anyone whose sporting interests run to game fishing as well as shooting and stalking. Like the rest of the series, it is designed, hand-sculpted and manufactured in the UK by pewter specialists A.R Brown & T.S Brown, cast in solid pewter and finished with the heavy, three-dimensional detail the maker's badges are known for rather than a flat stamped outline. It picks out the trout's body shape and fin lines clearly enough to read at a glance, yet stays small enough to sit neatly on a jacket lapel, cap or gilet without looking out of place. Supplied in its own presentation box, it works equally well as a gift for a keen angler or as a personal addition to a collection of Bisley's countryside pins, which cover everything from gundogs and game birds to deer. A straightforward, well-made piece of field-sports jewellery rather than a technical product — there is little more to say about it beyond what it is.
