The Hornady Pistol Style Expander Die for .44 calibre (.429–.430) is a precision-machined case-mouth expanding die designed for use with straight-walled rifle and pistol cases. Its primary job is to bell or flare the case mouth to the correct degree — opening it just enough to seat a bullet cleanly without shaving lead or crumpling the case, while maintaining the neck tension needed for consistent bullet pull. The die is built to Hornady's exacting internal-finish standards, which translates to smooth operation and accurate, repeatable adjustment shot after batch after batch. It is supplied complete with a Sure-Loc lock ring, which clamps around the full circumference of the die body and locks it firmly without the set screw touching the threads — protecting both die and press from thread damage. Wrench flats are machined into the ring for straightforward removal. The 7/8"–14 thread is the industry standard, so the die fits all conventional reloading presses. Does not include a shell holder.
