The Hornady Full-Length Size Die for 22 Hornet (.224) is a precision reloading tool machined to SAAMI minimum specifications, resizing fired cases back to factory dimensions for reliable chambering across a range of rifles. At the heart of the die is Hornady's Elliptical Expander — a proprietary design that provides notably smoother neck sizing than conventional ball expanders while significantly reducing friction and case neck stretch, preserving brass life over repeated reloading cycles. The Elliptical Expander is mated to a headed decap pin via the Zip Spindle, which locks positively to eliminate slippage during operation; fine threads on both spindle and lock allow precise incremental adjustments, or the spindle can be zipped quickly for coarse movement. The internal die profile is precision-machined and polished to a mirror finish, preventing case sticking and excess friction. Supplied with Hornady's Sure-Loc lock ring, which clamps around the full die body to hold its position under constant use — the locking screw contacts the body rather than the threads, protecting both components.
