The Lee Factory Crimp Die for .222 Remington is a dedicated final-stage reloading die that locks the bullet securely in the case neck using a four-segment collet, rather than a conventional roll crimp. The collet squeezes the case mouth uniformly around the bullet, creating a firm, even crimp that works on any bullet regardless of whether it has a cannelure or crimp groove. According to Lee Precision, this higher start pressure produces a more uniform pressure curve and reduces velocity variation — both of which contribute to tighter groups at the bench or in the field. The die accepts standard 7/8"-14 thread presses and is made from steel in the USA. It is sold separately so it can supplement any existing Lee .222 Remington die set, or be added as a standalone finishing step to another manufacturer's sizing and seating dies. Particularly worthwhile for hunting rounds, where consistent bullet pull matters as much as precision seating depth.
