The Jackson Rifles 1/2 x 20 Thread Protector Cap guards the imperial half-inch, 20 threads-per-inch muzzle thread that is common on rimfire rifles and a number of centrefire sporting barrels. Leaving a threaded muzzle unprotected between sessions risks corrosion, dirt ingress and the kind of minor thread damage that can make seating a moderator difficult or even prevent it altogether. This cap screws straight on to cover the thread, keeping it clean and sharp for when the moderator goes back on. The blue anodised finish makes it easy to identify at a glance and holds up to wet field conditions. Jackson Rifles are based in south-west Scotland and have been supplying moderators and precision shooting accessories to UK stalkers and target shooters for many years — their thread protectors are made to the same fit tolerances as their suppressor-compatible products. A sensible, affordable item to keep in your range bag or rifle slip.
