The Caldwell Lead Sled Weight Bag Standard is the simple way to add ballast to your Lead Sled recoil-reducing shooting rest. It is an empty bag you fill yourself — pour in roughly 25 lb (11.3 kg) of lead shot or about 7 lb (3.2 kg) of sand — then sit it in the shot tray of your Lead Sled 3, Solo or DFT 2; it also fits the original Lead Sled, Lead Sled Plus and DFT. With the weight in place, the sled soaks up recoil so you can zero a stalking rifle, pattern a shotgun or work through load development without taking a battering at the bench. The heavy-duty fabric cover stands up to rough handling, and the nylon webbed handles make carrying a full bag to the range or a zeroing session on the estate far easier than wrestling loose sandbags. At 5.5 x 10 x 3 in (14 x 25.4 x 7.6 cm), it stows flat when empty and takes up next to no room in the truck. Sold unfilled, ready for whichever weighted media you have to hand.
