The Swarovski Z8i 1.7–13.3x42 P II is a second-generation illuminated variable rifle scope built around an 8x zoom ratio and a 42 mm objective lens. Designed for deer stalking and woodland hunting, its wide magnification range runs from 1.7x — wide enough for a running shot in close cover — through to 13.3x for precise long-range work on open ground. The Gen II redesign introduced an ergonomic cockpit layout that brings the illumination control, magnification ring and dioptre adjustment into a more intuitive arrangement, usable even in heavy gloves. The 30 mm main tube is nitrogen-filled and waterproof, and the SWAROTOP and SWARODUR coatings deliver outstanding light transmission for performance in low-light conditions at dawn and dusk. This variant is supplied with standard 30 mm L-rings, providing a secure and repeatable fit on standard Picatinny or dovetail rail bases. The second-focal-plane 4A-I illuminated reticle provides a clear aiming point across the full zoom range.
