The Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6x24 is a fast, low-power variable riflescope built for close-to-mid-range work — driven boar, woodland stalking and moving quarry — where a genuine 1x setting for both-eyes-open target acquisition matters as much as reach at distance. Its second focal plane VMR-2 reticle stays fine and uncluttered at low power, with hash-marked MOA subtensions for ranging, holdover and windage that are true to scale at one specified magnification rather than throughout the zoom range. Illumination runs to 10 intensity levels with off positions between each setting so brightness can be matched to failing light, and the illumination dial sits opposite the windage turret for quick, instinctive access. Capped turrets give 1/2 MOA click adjustment with 40 MOA of travel per rotation, parallax is set at 100 yards, and eye relief is a generous 3.8 inches for fast target acquisition at close quarters. The 30mm aircraft-grade aluminium tube carries scratch-resistant ArmorTek coating on the exterior lenses, XR fully multi-coated HD lens elements and XD shockproof construction to handle hard recoil. At 10.83 inches and 22.7oz it is compact and light for a driven-hunt setup. Supplied with a CR2032 battery, lens cloth and sunshade.
