This is the Kahles 56mm sunshield, an objective-end extension that threads onto the 56mm objective of a Kahles riflescope to cut glare and stray light. By shading the front lens it reduces forward reflection and lens flare when the sun is low or off to the side, so the image stays cleaner during dawn and dusk stalking sessions when the light is at its trickiest. The extended hood also helps hold off rain and snow, keeping the objective clearer for longer in poor weather, and adds a little physical protection for the front lens out in the field. It is built to match the rest of the Kahles range and fits the K624i, K525i, K1050 and Helia models with a 56mm objective. Fitting is straightforward, screwing directly onto the objective so there is nothing to clamp or pack out, and it can be left on or removed as conditions demand. For deer stalkers and hunters running one of these scopes, it is a simple way to manage glare and protect the glass without affecting the optics behind it.
