The Vortex Sport Cantilever 1-inch Mount is a one-piece scope mount built for flat-top, Picatinny-railed AR-15 style rifles. Rather than clamping a scope directly over the receiver, its cantilever arm carries the rings forward of the rail, giving a 2-inch offset that places the scope where it belongs for correct eye relief and a natural head position behind the stock. It takes 1-inch tube scopes and sets the centre of the scope 1.59 inches (40.39mm) above the rail, a practical height for a cheek weld on most AR platforms. Machined from aluminium, it is finished to run alongside the rest of the rifle rather than stand out from it, and is built to hold zero under recoil rather than shift under use. Base clamp screws torque to 20 in/lbs and ring screws to 18 in/lbs, so it can be fitted and re-torqued correctly with a standard hex driver and torque wrench. A straightforward, no-nonsense way to get a 1-inch riflescope properly positioned on an AR-15, without needing a separate rail riser or spacer.
