Vortex's Hunter rings are a straightforward, dependable way to mount a 30mm-tubed riflescope to a Picatinny or Weaver rail, and this Low set is the lowest of three heights offered in the range. The standard 2-screw design keeps things simple for a typical hunting rig, with the centre of the scope tube sitting just 0.75in (19.0mm) above the rail for the tightest, most compact cheek-to-scope alignment the Hunter range offers. Rings are machined from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminium, giving a good balance of strength and weight at 49g (1.72oz) per set. Base clamp screws torque to 25-30in/lbs and the ring screws to 15in/lbs, so the mount can be tightened correctly with a standard torque wrench. Vortex doesn't recommend the Hunter range for heavy-recoiling rifles, so it suits typical stalking and general-purpose hunting calibres rather than magnums. A sensible, no-frills mount for anyone fitting a 30mm scope to a hunting rifle on a rail-equipped receiver, and a good choice where a low, snag-free profile matters.
