The Warne Maxima M879M is a two-piece steel scope base built around the Weaver pattern, one of the toughest and most widely supported scope-mounting systems available. Machined from steel rather than aluminium, it sits low on the action for a slim profile and adds real strength over lighter alternatives. This base set is specific to the Weatherby Mark V Magnum action with nine locking lugs - it is not for the six-lug Mark V Standard, the .240 Weatherby Magnum, or Vanguard actions - so check your rifle model before ordering. Each base carries a full-width recoil slot, letting the recoil-control key on Warne Maxima QD rings bear across the widest possible surface for a secure lock-up under heavy recoil. Paired with Warne Maxima QD rings, the low-profile design also lets you look over the top of the mount to use the rifle's open sights without changing your normal shooting position.
