The Warne Maxima M808/808M is a two-piece steel scope mount base built specifically for the Steyr Mannlicher L and LS rifle actions, with .390in hole spacing to match the receiver's factory drilling. Modelled on the Weaver-style design, it's machined from solid steel rather than the lighter alloys used on many two-piece bases, giving a genuinely low-profile fit that keeps the scope close to the bore axis. Each base carries a full-width, full-depth recoil slot, so the recoil control keys on Warne's own rings get maximum bearing surface under recoil — a real consideration on a hard-recoiling stalking rifle. Paired with Warne's Maxima QD rings, the design also allows the shooter to use the rifle's open sights by looking straight over the top of the mounted base, without shifting cheek weld. Fitting is straightforward: the base comes complete with its mounting screws, ready to bolt to the action. Supplied in matte black finish to suit a working stalking rifle rather than a range gun.
