Clulite's Long Ranger Elite is the latest version of a lamp that's been a mainstay of night-time vermin control for years, now rebuilt with a redesigned handle, a quiet flush-fitting switch and genuine gains in output. It throws a focused spot beam out to around 800 metres from a 2000-lumen LED, with high and low modes giving a choice between maximum reach on high (roughly 2.5 hours' runtime) or a longer session on low (around 5 hours). The lamp is rechargeable via USB-C, takes about 7.5 hours for a full charge, and carries LED indicators that show battery level both in use and while charging, so there's no guessing whether it'll see the job out. Handy in the field: a 5V USB output lets it double as an emergency power bank for a phone or headtorch, and it comes supplied with a red filter for spotting without spooking quarry, plus a wrist strap.
