The Laurin Metalli Rhombic Ground Blade is a Finnish-made knife blank distinguished by its rhombic (diamond) cross-section grind, which produces a blade that is stiff, strong and well-suited to tasks requiring lateral rigidity rather than the flexibility of a hollow or convex grind. The 126 mm blade is machined from 80CrV2 carbon steel — a high-carbon alloy with chromium and vanadium additions that give good wear resistance, toughness and the capacity to take a fine, long-lasting edge. At 27 mm in depth and 4 mm in width, the blade has a notably sturdy profile for its length, making it suitable for heavier carving work or robust outdoor knives where blade strength under side-loading matters. Supplied as a blank without a handle, it is intended for knife makers who will fit their own grip material. Laurin Metalli has manufactured blade blanks in Finland for many years, supplying European knife-making workshops and hobbyists with reliable, well-finished stock.
