The Caldwell 2x4 Plate Hanger is a steel bracket that lets you hang Caldwell AR500 steel targets from any standard 2x4 timber post on the range, rather than needing a dedicated target stand. It fits over the top of the post and the included hardware bolts straight into the mounting holes on Caldwell's AR500 steel plates, so a plate can be up and swinging in minutes on whatever 2x4 upright you already have set up. Built as a simple, rigid steel fitting rather than a moving part, it is designed to take the vibration and repeated impact of centrefire hits without working loose. It suits anyone running a home or club range who wants a quick, low-cost way to add a swinging steel target to an existing post rather than buying a full stand — useful for target-transition practice, reactive-steel drills, or simply adding another plate to a session without extra kit.
