It fills the open pores of the wood and seals out moisture in a single easy application, giving a smooth, closed-grain surface ready for finishing. Because it dries clear, you can follow it with your stain of choice or leave the timber in its natural tone before moving on to a topcoat such as Birchwood Casey's Tru-Oil Gun Stock Finish, for which the Sealer & Filler is designed as the first step.
