Parker-Hale's .22 pistol barrel cleaning rod is a one-piece rod built for handgun maintenance in .22 to .25 calibre, finished with the red handle that marks out the smaller-calibre end of the range. The rod itself is acetate-covered over a steel core with brass fittings, protecting the bore from the abrasion a bare metal rod can cause, while the handle spins on ball bearings so a brush, mop or jag follows the rifling rather than twisting against it - the difference between a proper clean and a scuffed patch. This version carries a female American thread rather than Parker-Hale's own UK fitting, so it takes US-pattern attachments - jags, brushes and mops from the likes of Dewey, Hoppe's, Pro-Shot, Tetra and Tipton - straight onto the rod with no adapter needed. Overall length is around 11.4in (289mm), and the rod weighs a modest 96g, light enough to sit in a cleaning kit or range bag without adding bulk.
