The Barnes Tipped TSX (TTSX) in .257 calibre and 100 grains is a lead-free component bullet designed for reloaders seeking controlled, reliable expansion on deer-sized game. The 100% copper body carries multiple relief rings cut into the shank, which reduce fouling and pressure compared with conventional copper-jacketed bullets. A polymer tip raises the ballistic coefficient — confirmed at 0.336 G1 — for a flatter trajectory and better long-range performance, and also initiates expansion reliably on impact. The four cutting petals open to roughly double the bullet's original diameter while the copper body retains near 100% of its weight, delivering deep, straight penetration. Barnes recommends seating initially 0.050" off the lands, with best accuracy typically found between 0.030" and 0.070" depending on the rifle. Supplied as 50 component bullets per box — not loaded ammunition.
