The Caldwell 7-Rest is a compact, all-in-one shooting rest built around an asymmetric, folding frame that gives front and rear rifle support from a single unit. Loosen the lock knob and you can adjust the angle between the two halves of the frame to change the distance between the front and rear supports, tailoring the rest to rifles of virtually any length. Because the frame sits offset to the side of the action rather than directly beneath it, there's clearance for extended magazines, lever actions and rolling-block rifles that a straight centre-line rest would foul on. The frame folds to work equally well for right- or left-handed shooters, and the over-moulded front and rear supports cradle the stock and forend securely without marking the finish. Both supports offer height adjustment, so zeroing and load development sessions on the bench are quick to set up. When you're done, the whole rest folds flat for easy transport and storage, making it a practical choice for anyone who zeroes rifles regularly, whether at a permanent bench or a portable setup taken to the range.
