The Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph is a proper bit of range kit for anyone serious about load development, giving accurate muzzle velocity readings across a wide range of shooting conditions. A high-speed 48 MHz processor and an advanced data interface allow each unit to be computer-calibrated at the factory, giving accuracy to within +/-0.25% and readings from 5 to 9,999 feet per second (or the metric equivalent) shown on a large built-in LCD screen in FPS or MPS. Despite the technology inside, it is straightforward to use trackside or on the bench, and the wide sunshades are built from durable synthetic material for reliable readings on bright days. A 15ft audio jack cable is included so shot-string data can be sent to a smartphone or tablet running Caldwell's free app, which logs average velocity, standard deviation, minimum, maximum and velocity spread for each string alongside load and environmental notes. It runs from a 9V battery (not included) and has a 1/4-20 threaded insert on the base for mounting to a tripod. Primarily intended for outdoor use.
