Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof is a water-based waterproofing treatment designed specifically for combination fabric and leather footwear. The sponge applicator makes it straightforward to use: dab the sponge to release product, then apply evenly to clean, wet boots. As the footwear air-dries at room temperature, the treatment builds Durable Water Repellency (DWR) on individual fibres of both fabric and leather, preventing water absorption while keeping breathability fully intact. This matters for active use — if the outer material wets out, moisture vapour cannot escape, leaving feet clammy and cold. Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof restores that DWR without softening the leather or affecting the structure of the boot. It is compatible with Gore-Tex, eVent, BDRY and all other waterproof membrane construction. Non-flammable and PFAS-free, it is a safer alternative to solvent-based aerosols. For best results, clean footwear with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel before treatment. Note: light-coloured fabric or leather may darken slightly — test on a hidden area first.
