The Saxnäs GTX Women is Härkila's leather hunting boot built specifically for women, not simply a smaller version of the men's model — the last is shaped to the female foot, and this pair comes in the willow green colourway. The upper is high-quality leather, kept remarkably light at around 580g per boot given the robust, hardwearing construction, and it's paired with a stiff sole to give the support needed for trekking and stalking on rough, uneven mountain ground. A medium-length 15cm (6in) shaft sits slightly lower than the men's version for a fit better suited to the female ankle and calf. Underneath is a field-tested, waterproof GORE-TEX membrane — every boot has its membrane tested in a water bath during manufacture, with a further centrifuge spot-test on a sample of production, so wet feet shouldn't be an issue in driving rain or wet bracken. The boot is designed and manufactured in Europe to Härkila's usual standard, and carries the brand's two-year warranty against material or manufacturing defects.
