This small brass adaptor lets you use your UK-spec shotgun barrel cleaning rod with large-calibre rifle cleaning accessories. It converts the male thread on a standard UK shotgun cleaning rod so that it will accept female-threaded rifle attachments in the .270 to .60 calibre range — brushes, mops, jags and patch-puller loops — rather than being limited to shotgun-specific fittings. It's a handy bit of kit for anyone who owns both a shotgun and a large-calibre rifle but doesn't want to buy a second dedicated cleaning rod: fit the adaptor to your existing shotgun rod and you can borrow attachments from your rifle cleaning kit as needed. Being brass, it's corrosion-resistant and built to standard UK thread tolerances, so it should thread on securely without forcing. Note that fit depends on your shotgun rod's diameter, since a smaller-calibre fitting won't always sit properly in a larger bore. Supplied by BushWear as a genuine Bisley-line accessory for UK field-sports gun care.
