This one-piece rifle cleaning rod from Parker-Hale is built for small-bore rifles taking a .170 (.17 to .177 calibre) female thread attachment, with a 32in rod and black handle. Like the rest of Parker-Hale's one-piece range, it uses a hardened and tempered steel core running through a tough acetate protective covering, so the rod itself can't mark or abrade the bore as it passes down the barrel. The handle spins on a ball-bearing fitting, letting brushes, mops and jags follow the rifling as you push them through rather than binding up, which gives a cleaner, more even pass than a fixed handle. Brass fittings at the working end resist corrosion in use. The female thread accepts standard Parker-Hale attachments — bronze brushes, jags and wool mops — sized for .17 and .177 calibre bores, making this a straightforward one-piece rod for stalkers and small-bore shooters who want a proper barrel clean without the joints and flex of a sectional rod. A sound, no-nonsense piece of maintenance kit for anyone running a .17-calibre rifle.
