- Made in the UK by Parker-Hale
This Parker-Hale one-piece rifle cleaning rod is built for .270 calibre and above, tackling everything from .270 and .30-06 through to .308 and .300 Win Mag. A hardened and tempered steel core runs the full 44in length, and the rod carries a rotating ball-bearing handle so a brush, mop or jag follows the barrel's rifling rather than scraping across it. A tough acetate covering wraps the shaft to protect the crown and bore from abrasion during cleaning, while brass fittings keep the connection solid and corrosion-resistant. This female-thread version takes the USA-pattern #8-32 UNC fitting, so it works directly with widely available American brushes, jags and mops from the likes of Dewey, Hoppes, Pro-Shot, Tetra and Tipton, useful if you already run US-spec attachments or want a wider choice of consumables. The black handle marks it out as the large-calibre rod in Parker-Hale's range, distinct from the red-handled small-calibre versions. Made in the UK, it's a straightforward, no-nonsense piece of maintenance kit for anyone who wants their rifle barrel cleaned properly rather than just wiped through.
