The Croots Malton cartridge belt is a traditional leather belt for carrying 20-bore shotgun cartridges in the field, handmade in Croots' workshop in Malton, North Yorkshire. It is cut from waxed bridle leather, a natural vegetable-tanned hide that is hand-cured and stained using methods passed down through the generations, then finished with an age-old blend of fats, oils and waxes that feeds the leather, adds a deep layer of protection and gives the belt its distinctive grained look. The belt carries 25 open loops sized for 20-bore cartridges, backed by a wide stopper band that keeps the row tidy and stops shells working loose on the move. A solid 2" brass buckle holds everything firmly at the waist. This is the X-Large size, fitting a 48"-54" waist measured from the buckle pin to the first and last hole. Equally at home on a driven day, a rough shoot or a walked-up outing, it is a hard-wearing belt that weathers and improves with years of use, and a handsome, practical companion for the game or clay shot who prefers good British leather to synthetic alternatives.
