Bama Shoe Cream is a pigmented, deeply nourishing cream for smooth leather footwear, made by Dasco and supplied here in a 50ml jar. Unlike a hard wax paste, which mainly builds a shine on the surface, this cream works into the leather itself: it feeds the fibres to keep boots and shoes supple, while its colour pigments revive and even out a shade that has faded or scuffed with wear. A protective element in the formula also helps shield the leather from dirt, moisture and sunlight, all of which dull colour and dry the surface over time, and it does this without clogging the leather's natural breathability. It suits smooth, natural leather uppers on walking boots, country shoes and brogues, and the same jar will happily do a leather belt or bag too - but it isn't right for suede or nubuck, which need a dedicated cleaner and protector instead. Kept on the boot-room shelf and used little and often, it's a cheap way to keep good leather looking cared for and lasting years longer than it would left untreated.
