The Helia RF-M 7x25 is Kahles' first monocular laser rangefinder, designed specifically for hunting. It reads distances from 10 m out to 2,000 m with accuracy of plus or minus 1 m to 100 m, and returns a measurement in around a second — quick enough to range a beast the moment it steps clear. The patented EAC function (Enhanced Angle Compensation) calculates the true angle-corrected shooting distance, which earns its keep when you are stalking on steep Highland ground. Through the glass you get 7x magnification, a 25 mm objective and a wide 117 m field of view at 1,000 m with strong edge-to-edge sharpness, so finding and holding a target is straightforward. The crisp OLED display has five brightness settings and reads in metres or yards, backed by temperature and air-pressure readouts and a scan mode for tracking moving targets. At 214 g including its CR2 battery — good for roughly 4,000 measurements — it disappears into a pocket, and the nitrogen-filled housing is fully waterproof.
