The Laurin Metalli Progressive Tempered Blade is a 77mm knife blade blank made from 80CrV2 carbon steel, produced in Kauhava, Finland. Progressive tempering gives the blade a hard cutting edge — approximately RC63 — while the spine and body remain at a tougher RC53, closely mimicking the performance of a laminated blade without the added thickness that lamination requires. The result is a blade that takes and holds a keen edge, yet resists snapping under lateral stress.
