The Laurin Metalli Progressive Tempered 90mm blade blank is a Finnish-made knife-making component in 80CrV2 carbon steel, precision heat-treated using Laurin's progressive tempering process. This technique hardens the cutting edge to approximately RC63 while leaving the spine and body at a tougher RC53, delivering an edge that sharpens easily and holds well without the brittleness of a uniformly hard blade — mimicking the performance of a laminated blade in a single-steel construction. The blade measures 90mm in length, 25mm in depth, and 3.25mm in thickness, with a full-length tang for custom handle attachment. The Scandi grind is suited to hunting, skinning, and general field use. Supplied as a bare, unhandled blank, it is aimed at knife makers and craftsmen who wish to fit their own scales, bolsters, and fittings.
